After spending the past six years in the state of Maryland as both a player and an assistant coach, Brandon Nicholson has crossed over the Mason-Dixon Line to become to serve as first assistant coach with the Waynesburg men’s soccer team.

Nicholson joins head coach Carl Griffith’s staff after two years as an assistant coach at Hood College, where he worked under veteran head man Brian Wall. He joined the Blazers after a four-year playing career at Goucher College. The Germantown, Md. native was a four-year member of the Gophers’ varsity team. He appeared in 37 games at Goucher, tallied two goals and chipped in three assists.

Nicholson graduated from Goucher in 2010 with a degree in Communications. He is a 2006 graduate of Damascus High School, where he was a four-year member of the varsity team. Nicholson served as a team captain during his senior season and helped lead the Hornets to their first playoff win.
