Waynesburg University Athletics

Mike Abbondondolo is beginning his first year as a men’s and women’s assistant coach under Waynesburg head soccer coach Sean McCarthy. He comes to campus after spending a year as the junior varsity boys’ coach at Amityville (N.Y.) High School and the head coach of the Amityville F.C. Club U-16 Boys team. This past spring and summer he also worked as a trainer with S.U.S.A. Academy and as a soccer specialist at a YMCA sports camp.

Prior to this very busy stretch, Abbondondolo graduated with a B.A. in management from Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. in May of 2010. He also carried a double minor in communications and sociology. While playing for the Valiants, Abbondondolo was honored as the team’s 2006 Rookie of the Year and received several academic accolades. He was also a track standout at Manhattanville.

Abbondondolo is a graduate of Bay High School, where he earned team MVP laurels in 2005, was a two-time all-conference pick (2004, 2005) and spent his junior and senior years as a team captain. He has received his USSF National “D” License and his NSCAA National Diploma.
