Waynesburg University Athletics

Nathan Lyle is in his second year as an assistant coach with the Waynesburg men’s soccer team.

Lyle comes to the Yellow Jackets after spending the past two seasons with the Southern Illinois University club soccer team. In 2009, he served as head coach following a 2008 campaign in which he was an assistant on the staff. He also played on the club squad from 2007 to 2009, while pursuing his law degree, which he received from SIU this past spring.

Before his time in the Midwest, Lyle was a three-year member and one-year letterman of the Slippery Rock University men’s team. He earned a degree in philosophy from SRU in 2006.

Lyle is a 2002 graduate of Yough High School and a native of West Newton, Pa. He was a four-year starter for the Cougars, an all-conference honoree and a member of the Finest 15 all-star team. He also served as a team captain and served as a volunteer coach at Yough following his graduation.
