AnnaMarie Gatti joined the Waynesburg University softball coaching staff in August 2024.
Gatti brings NCAA Division I playing and coaching experience to WU. She starred in the circle as a pitcher at Syracuse University and coached three seasons at Saint Francis University.
Gatti recorded a 3.29 career earned run average in over 400 innings pitched for the Orange. She was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic All-Region Third Team in 2016 and finished her collegiate career with 34 victories and 270 strikeouts.
Gatti was drafted in the fourth round of American Softball Association draft in 2018 by the Future 1s. She finished top-five in the league in opposing batting average, wins, games finished and relief appearances.
Following her playing career, Gatti spent three seasons as the pitching coach at Saint Francis as a graduate assistant and full-time assistant. The Red Flash captured Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament championships and made NCAA Regionals appearances in 2019 and 2021.
Gatti’s pitching staff at SFU ranked as one of the top units in the nation in 2021 as the Red Flash set program records for shutouts (19), strikeouts (321) and ERA (1.47). The team ranked fourth in NCAA Division I in ERA, fifth in shutouts and finished top-25 in strikeout-to-talk ratio (3.45). Sophomore Grace Vesco was named the NEC Pitcher of the Year, NEC Tournament MVP, NFCA National Fresh of the Year Top 15 List and All-Region First Team.
Gatti graduated from Syracuse with a degree in Food Studies in 2018 and earned a Masters in Human Resources Management from Saint Francis in 2020.
