Sara Christner enters her first season as an assistant coach on head coach Lou Giachetti’s staff.
Christner previously served as assistant softball coach at Calvin College from 2002-2005. During the 2004 season, she served as Associate Head Coach. While at Calvin, she was also the Admissions Athletic Recruitment Coordinator from 2001-2007, before serving as Coordinator of Christian Formation for Athletics in 2007-2008.
Christner is a 2000 graduate of Calvin and earned a masters degree in school counseling in 2010 from Grand Valley State University. During her playing days with the Knights, She was a four-year starter, a three-year captain and a two-time All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honoree.
Christner is married to Waynesburg University men’s basketball coach Mark Christner, and is the mother of son Leo and daughters Elin and Nora.
