After a stellar four years at Waynesburg University that featured a multitude of individual achievements, Laurie Lindner is entering her second season as an assistant coach with the Yellow Jacket volleyball team.

Lindner, who was the 2008 PAC Player of the Year, was a four-time All-PAC selection and the PAC Freshman of the Year in 2005.

She is also the program’s all-time leader in kills (1,537), attack attempts (4,154) and total points (1,732.0) since the 2001 season.

Last season, Lindner finished third in kills per set (3.56) in the PAC en route to being named the PAC’s top player.

She also ranked second on the team in digs (412) and third in blocks (37). She also finished second in aces with 26.

In 2008, Lindner twice received PAC Player of the Week accolades, and was  honored as an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III-South Co-Player of the Week in late September.

Lindner graduated in 2009 with a degree in sports management.

While this is Lindner’s first collegiate coaching job, she has also served as a guest coach at summer camps at the Anna School District (Va.), Jefferson-Morgan and West Greene.

This past spring, Lindner served her first year as the interim coach of the Waynesburg women’s lacrosse team, whom she played for as a senior in 2008.

A 2005 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, Lindner was a three-year varsity lettermen with the Raiders and a member of the All-Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic League (WPIAL) team.
