Waynesburg University Athletics

Freshman Tara Staley made a great first impression on the other members of the Waynesburg softball team by playing a major role in the Yellow Jackets’ 5-3 record at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Florida. Staley started all eight games and hit .417 with four RBI and two runs scored. She drew two walks and was hit by a pitch twice to help post a team-high .500 on-base percentage. The Waynesburg native boasted a 1.000 fielding percentage with six assists and 13 putouts.
