Freshman Eric Townsend II was named PAC Men’s Track & Field Rookie of the Week after a busy day at Saturday’s Jim Wuske Invitational, which was hosted by the University of Mount Union. He finished second in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 08.25 inches (6.61 meters) in the 36-competitor field, ninth in the triple jump (41-10, 12.75m) and 10th in the 200-meter dash (23.06). Townsend's mark for the long jump meets the qualifying standards for the ECAC Championships. Also, his 200-meter dash time currently ranks third on the league's performance list, while his effort in the triple jump is the fifth-best mark.
