PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Nov. 22) – The Waynesburg's men's basketball team got a tremendous effort from junior guard Ryan Courneen, but it wasn't enough to carry them to victory past La Roche in day two of the CRONS Classic, which was hosted by La Roche.

Courneen led the Yellow Jackets (1-1) with a team-high 22 points on seven-of-11 shooting, and also paced the team with eight rebounds in the 74-66 loss.

Waynesburg trailed by just five (34-29) at halftime, but the Redhawks (2-1) pulled away by out-scoring the visiting Jackets 40-37 after halftime to seal up the eight-point victory.

The Jackets also got a big game out of senior Dan Happe, who poured in 18 points on five-of-seven shooting, including making four-of-five shot attempts from beyond the three-point arc.

The visitors got a third double-digit scoring effort from senior forward #Colby Grubich#, who tallied 10 points. Jason Clark had a big day defensively, as he swiped a team-best four steals.

The victorious Redhawks were led by Dylan Grazier's 24 points, which was a game-high. La Roche nearly got a double-double from Steve Lucas, who rolled up nine points and yanked down a game-high nine rebounds.

Though it came in a losing effort, the Jackets put forth an impressive shooting display, connecting on 21-of-41 attempts from the field. They also showcased good accuracy from beyond the arc, converting eight-of-16 from downtown.

Waynesburg returns to the court on Tuesday, Nov. 25, when they host Franciscan University (Ohio) for their home-opener. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
