WASHINGTON, Pa. (March 30) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team won its second-straight match, both against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponents, on Tuesday when it downed Washington & Jefferson 5-4.

The Yellow Jackets are now 2-2 on the year and 2-0 in PAC play. The loss dropped the Presidents to 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in conference action.

Waynesburg got off to a strong start by winning two of the three doubles matches. After dropping a tight 9-7 match at first doubles, the senior duo of Jeff Canning and Adam Woodruff picked up an 8-3 win over Eric Sillard and David Dubois. The Jackets added a second doubles victory when the first-year tandem of Jon Anderson and Jason Logan downed Justin Mondok and Cameron Sell 8-1.

The two teams split the singles matches. After W&J picked up wins at number-one, number-two and number-three singles, the Jackets bounced back by sweeping the final three contests to seal the win.

Woodruff beat Eric Sillard 6-1, 4-0 in a shortened match, Logan rolled past Mondok 6-1, 6-0 and Anderson clinched the victory with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Sell.

The Waynesburg men are next scheduled to be in action on April 6, when they travel to Bethany to face the Bison.
