NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 10) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team put together a strong performance at Westminster College and rolled to a 7-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over the Titans on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets swept through the three doubles matches to open the day, and sealed up the victory with four singles victories. Sophomore Peter Mally, senior Jeff Canning, junior Emile Khoury and sophomore Jon Anderson all picked up a singles and doubles victory each on the day.

Khoury and Mally teamed up at first doubles to down Mark Drabick and Drew Trifelos by the score of 8-3. At the number-two spot, Canning joined senior Adam Woodruff in a hard-fought 9-8 (7-3) triumph over Westminster's Scott Lawrence and Sean Black. Waynesburg completed the doubles sweep when Anderson and sophomore Jason Logan rolled to an 8-1 win over Derek Fredrickson and Brad Thomas.

The Jackets kept on rolling in singles play. At the number-one spot, Mally took care of Drabick 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. Canning followed with a straight-set win (6-4, 6-2) over Lawrence at second singles, and Waynesburg got another victory when Khoury beat Trifelos 6-4, 6-2.

After the Titans picked up victories at fourth and fifth singles, the Yellow Jackets wrapped up the win when Anderson dispatched Thomas 6-0, 6-2.

With the win, Waynesburg improved to 4-3 on the year and a perfect 4-0 in PAC play. The loss dropped Westminster to 3-8 on the season and 3-2 in conference matches.

The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to return to action on April 13, when they travel to Penn State Altoona for a non-conference match.
