Waynesburg men fall at Washington & Jefferson

Yellow Jackets can't get offense going against Presidents; drop 86-45 contest

WASHINGTON, Pa. (Jan. 15) – It was a tough Saturday for the Waynesburg University men's basketball team, which ran into a fired up Washington & Jefferson squad on Saturday.

 

The Yellow Jackets were out-shot 47 percent to 29 percent, out-rebounded by an almost two-to-one margin (54-to-28) and dropped an 86-45 decision to the Presidents. With the loss, the Jackets fell to 5-11 overall and 2-5 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play. W&J is now 6-10 overall and an even 3-3 in conference action.

 

Junior forward Jeff Young led all Waynesburg scorers with 10 points.

 

The Jackets will try to put this loss behind them when they return to action on Jan. 19, as they host Geneva at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
