WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Waynesburg University baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader Saturday at Washington & Jefferson, the first-place team in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). The Jackets lost the first game 8-2 before dropping the second game 8-3.

With three straight losses to W&J (18-14, 14-4 PAC), Waynesburg (12-23, 7-11 PAC) is now on a four game losing streak, its longest since starting the season 2-10.

W&J scored three runs in the bottom of the first, two of which scored on back-to-back triples. The Jackets answered in the top of the second with a RBI single by Mike Neckerman to score Brendan Scioscia and make the score 3-1.

The Presidents quickly added two more runs in the bottom of the second, cruising to an 8-2 victory. Anthony Longo took the loss for the Jackets, surrendering five runs on eight hits over six innings.

Junior catcher Brendan Scioscia led the Jackets by going three-for-six in both games, including two-for-three while scoring both of the Jackets' runs in the game-one loss.

In the second game, junior third baseman Tim Chilcote went three-for-three to lead Waynesburg while senior shortstop Anthony DeFilippo went two-for-four with both Jacket RBIs.

Senior pitcher Jesse Gonzalez pitched into the fifth inning for Waynesburg. Gonzalez struck out three and gave up eight runs off ten hits and four walks before being pulled in the fifth. Fellow senior reliever Tim Knight pitched an inning and two-thirds of one-hit relief.

Waynesburg visits Saint Vincent Friday for a nine-inning game at 3:30 p.m.
