BETHANY, W.Va. (Nov. 28) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Wednesday night with a road trip to Bethany. The Yellow Jackets were able to keep things close through the first half of action, but the two-time defending conference champions pulled away with a big second half to pick up a 92-67 win.

Things started well for the Yellow Jackets (2-3, 0-1), who were able to take an early 14-12 lead on a layup by sophomore point guard Casey Hope with 12:23 left to play in the first period. A two-pointer by sophomore forward Jason Propst eight seconds into the second period pulled the Jackets to within six points at 36-30. However, Bethany exploded for a19-0 run over the next four minutes that pushed its advantage to 55-30 early in the second half. From there, the Bison never led by fewer than 19 points before closing out the victory.

Even though it came in a loss, Propst had one of his best games as a collegiate player by setting game highs for points (19) and rebounds (12), while also tying for the game high in assists with four. Propst shot eight-of-13 from the floor and played a team-high 29 minutes.

Sophomore forward Thomas Ellis came off the bench to chip in 12 points on six-of-12 shooting and grabbing six rebounds. Hope added an efficient nine points on four-of-six shooting.

Waynesburg held a major 46-to-30 advantage in rebounding on the night,
