MARIETTA, Ohio (Feb. 25) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team opened up the 2012 season with a 6-3 road loss at Marietta on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets (0-1) picked up their only contested win of the day at fourth singles where junior
Jon Anderson won a grueling match 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 1-0 (10-6). Marietta improved to 1-0 for the year.
Waynesburg will look to rebound from the loss on Tuesday, Feb. 28, when the Jackets travel to Latrobe to open up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play against Saint Vincent. The match is scheduled to start at 12 30 p.m.
NOTE: The match was originally scored an 8-1 win for Marietta. However, in June of 2013, the score was changed to 6-3 because of forfeits awarded to Waynesburg because of an ineligible player.
