Women's hoopsters heading back to ECAC South Tournament

Third-seeded Yellow Jackets hosting sixth-seeded Penn State Behrend

CENTERVILLE, Mass. (Feb. 27) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team will get a chance to defend its 2011 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South championship as it was selected to compete in the 2012 edition of the tournament. The Yellow Jackets (20-7), who fell in the semifinals of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tournament this past week to eventual runner-up Saint Vincent, will host Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, Feb. 29, a the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
This will be the second-straight season that the third-seeded Yellow Jackets and sixth-seeded Lions will face off in the ECAC South tournament. Last year, the Jackets defeated Behrend 73-59 in the tournament semifinals, before taking down Catholic University in the finals.
 
Waynesburg is one of four PAC schools to qualify for the postseason. Bethany will join the Jackets in the ECAC South tournament as the number-five seed, while Saint Vincent and the six-time conference champions from Thomas More, will compete in this year's NCAA Division III tournament.
