WAYNESBURG, Pa. (July 16) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team has announced an exciting addition to the 2026-27 schedule that will allow it to enjoy some warm weather during the cold Western Pennsylvania winter. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Orlando, Fla., to take part in the D3Orlando Classic Presented By Cabana Bay Beach Resort on Dec. 18 and 19.
 
Waynesburg is one of 10 schools representing seven states to take part in the event and will be joined by fellow Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) member Allegheny. The Jackets drew Marietta for its game on day one and Ursinus as its opponent on day two. Tipoff times are still to be announced and all games will be played at Rollins College's Warden Arena.
 
The D3 Orlando Classic is the first of many destination events planned by Ignite D3 Events as the organization continues building a national portfolio of premier Division III tournaments.
 
"This event represents everything we believe Division III athletics can be," said Josh Hudgens of Ignite D3 Events. "Great competition, outstanding location, meaningful travel experiences, and memories that extend far beyond the final score. Orlando is the perfect destination to bring all of those elements together."
