LATROBE, Pa. (Feb. 28) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Tuesday by traveling to Latrobe to take on Saint Vincent. The Yellow Jackets dropped a 9-0 decision to the Bearcats and fell to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference action. The Bearcats are now 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference action.
Junior
Jon Anderson came close to victory in both singles and doubles competition. He battled sophomore Nathan Walch and nearly took the first set of their match at fourth singles before falling 7-6 (8-6), 6-2. He also teamed up with freshman Phillip Littlejohn and came close to a win at second doubles before dropping a 9-7 match.
The Jackets will take a long break from competition before returning to the courts on March 17, when they face PAC opponent Westminster on the road. Start time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
