CANTON, Ohio (Nov. 26) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team braved the harsh winter weather to make Tuesday's road trip to Division II Malone University. The Yellow Jackets fell 92-70 to the Pioneers.
The home team (2-1) jumped out to a 12-2 lead after 3:27 of action in the first quarter, before The Jackets (3-2) responded by out-scoring their opposition 10-4 over the next 2:30 to pull to within four points (16-12) of tying the game. That was as close as Waynesburg came to regaining the lead on the night, as Malone took a 41-32 lead into halftime.
Several Pioneer runs allowed them to build leads as large as 23 points, before wrapping up the win. The Jackets got as close as nine points to the host squad over the final 20 minutes of play.
Waynesburg was led by junior forward
Jason Propst, who recorded a team-high 18 points on seven-of-10 shooting. He also blocked a game-high three shots and yanked down a Jacket-best five rebounds. Junior

Kenny Klase added 11 points to his team's efforts.
Both squads put together solid all-around shooting nights. Malone connected on 50 percent of its field goal tries (36-of-72), while the Jackets made 28-of-60 tries (47 percent) from the floor. The big difference between the two teams came from three-point range, where the Jackets made just one-of-12 tries down town. Malone knocked down seven-of-25 three-pointers. The Pioneers also held a noticeable advantage in rebounds (46-to-28).
Waynesburg returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 30, when the Jackets host Wells (N.Y.) College. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
