Men's tennis wraps up regular season

Yellow Jackets drop 6-3 match to Thiel

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (April 16) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team wrapped up its 2013 regular season schedule on Tuesday with a home match  against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Thiel. Though the Yellow Jackets were considered the home team, the match was contested at the Western Area YMCA in Robinson Township.
 
The Jackets (7-7, 3-4) fell to the Tomcats (14-5, 5-2) by the final score of 6-3. Waynesburg was led by sophomore Philip Littlejohn, who went 2-0 in the loss. Littlejohn won 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 at second singles, and teamed up with senior Jon Anderson in an 8-4 victory at second doubles. Sophomore Colin Phillips secured Waynesburg's only other win when he came back to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at number-five singles.
 
With the 2013 regular season schedule wrapped up, Waynesburg turns its attention to this weekend's PAC Championships, which will be competed at Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie. The two-day event gets started at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19.
