WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 11) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team hosted a tri-match at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets welcomed Pitt Greensburg, as well as Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Saint Vincent College, for the event.
Waynesburg (5-23, 1-12) fell 3-1 in its opening match with Saint Vincent (14-9, 5-6), before suffering a 3-0 loss to UPG (3-20) in its late contest. SVC downed Pitt Greensburg 3-0 in their matchup.
The Yellow Jackets were led by junior
Kourtney Skinner, who totaled a team-high 20 kills over the two matches. She added 22 digs to a balanced day on the court. Freshman Delaney Deniston helped out the offense by piling up 47 assists for a 6.71 assists per set average.
The Jacket defense was led by junior
Jessica Dorazio, who piled up 50 digs (7.14 digs per set). Speaking of defense, sophomore
Rachel Lang recorded three block assists.
Waynesburg gets back to work on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when it travels to Westminster College. Start tie is scheduled for 7 p.m.
