WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 16) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team took a break from Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Thursday when it welcomed La Roche College to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Despite a solid offensive night from junior
Kourtney Skinner, the Yellow Jackets dropped a 3-0 decision to the Redhawks.
The Jackets (5-25) could have easily grabbed wins in either of the match's first two sets, which both went 25-23 to La Roche (12-15). Unfortunately, the visiting team completed the sweep with a 25-16 win in set three.
Skinner paced the Jacket attack with a match-high 13 kills. She added seven digs to an evening's work. Junior
Jessica Dorazio led Waynesburg's defensive efforts with 14 digs. Freshman
Delaney Denniston recorded a double-double on 21 assists and 10 digs.
The Jackets return to PAC competition on Wednesday, Oct. 22, when they welcome Geneva and Chatham to town for a tri-match. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
