WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 22) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team played host to Chatham and Geneva for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets started out the afternoon with a 3-0 loss to Geneva, before rebounding with a 3-0 victory over Chatham to wrap up a long night at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
The Golden Tornadoes (19-8, 11-2) defeated the host Yellow Jackets (6-26, 2-15) by the set scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-9. Waynesburg rebounded by taking down Chatham (0-24, 0-16) 25-5, 25-9, 25-20. Geneva defeated Chatham 3-0 in between the two contests featuring the Jackets.
Junior
Kourtney Skinner put together an impressive display against the Cougars, when she drilled home 20 kills against Chatham, while taking 41 attempts. She also recorded eight digs. Freshman
Delaney Denniston helped out the Waynesburg offense with 29 assists.
The Yellow Jackets were particularly impressive from behind the service line, where they racked up 15 service aces. Sophomore
Rachel Lang led the way with a match-high eight aces, while Denniston added three of her own.
Waynesburg closes up the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 28, when Thiel comes to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse for senior night. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
