Jason Propst became the 32
nd 1,000-point scorer in Waynesburg University men's basketball history on Wednesday. Thanks in part to Propst's 10-point showing, the Yellow Jackets defeated Thiel 71-50.
Waynesburg (9-7, 5-2) found itself in a 9-4 hole following 4:32 of play. The Yellow Jackets turned the tide against the Tomcats (7-7, 4-2) by exploding for a 20-2 run that ended with an emphatic slam dunk from Propst with 7:54 left to play in the first half. After Propst's big basket, Waynesburg held a 24-11 advantage.
Thiel cut the Jacket lead down to four points (27-23) with just over 3:08 showing on the first-half clock. However, Waynesburg out-scored Thiel 13-4 to close out the period and take a 40-27 lead into the locker room.
Six-straight points to open the second half expanded the home team's advantage to 46-27. Waynesburg grew its lead to as many as 23 points before the night came to a close.

B.J. Durham posted a game-high 11 points in the victory. Propst, who now sits with exactly 1,000 collegiate points, was joined by senior forward
Tyler Miller with 10 points on the evening.

Jacob Fleegle pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, while senior wing
Kenny Klase dished out a game-high three assists.
The Jackets will go for a fourth-straight win on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when they travel to Geneva. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
