GAMBIER, Ohio (Oct. 10) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team hit the road for a Saturday tri-match. The Yellow Jackets travelled to Kenyon and dropped a 3-0 final score to the host Ladies, before falling 3-0 to NAIA member Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Waynesburg (3-20) fell to Kenyon (7-9) by the set scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-14. The Jackets' day concluded with a 25-15, 25-16, 25-10 setback against the undefeated Cougars (22-0).
The Jacket offense was paced by juniors
Rachel Lang and
Shannon Morgan, who recorded a combined nine digs each over the two contests. Freshman
Sydni Ayers helped out the Waynesburg attack with 27 assists. Senior
Jessica Dorazio led the Orange and Black defense with 18 digs. Lang had a big day near the net with six total blocks.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 13, with a road trip to Washington & Jefferson. Start time is set for 7 p.m.
