WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Dec. 30) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team hosted Pitt Greensburg for its final game of the 2015 calendar year. The Yellow Jackets blew open a tightly played game with a big second half en route to a 78-51 win.

The Orange and Black didn't lose any momentum through the rest and out-scored the Bobcats 49-27 over the third and fourth periods. Waynesburg shot 49 percent from the floor in the second half, including an impressive 55 percent (six-of-11) from three-point range.
Balance was the key to the Jackets' offensive success in the win. Nine different players scored at least five points each in the win, including sophomore forward
Addy Knetzer, who dropped in a team-high 12 points and a Jacket-best six rebounds.
Waynesburg featured a similar wide-spread effort when it came to rebounding, where seven individuals pulled down at least four rebounds. That work on the glass led to a 50-41 edge on the boards. The Jackets also held a noticeable advantage when it came to distributing the basketball. A total of 13 players combined for 21 Waynesburg assists, while UPG dished out just five helpers on the day.
The Jackets will look to carry over the momentum from Wednesday's win into Saturday's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown with Washington & Jefferson. Tipoff from the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
