GROVE CITY, Pa. (Dec. 5) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team traveled to Grove City on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup with the Wolverines on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets combined solid defense with impressive work on the glass to defeat GCC 55-43.
Grove City (2-4, 0-2) opened the scoring with a free throw and a field goal to take an early 3-0 lead. Waynesburg (2-5, 1-1) responded by scoring the next five points over six minutes of defense-oriented action. Senior forward

The Wolverines rebounded to tie the game at 7-7, with just under a minute to play in the period. The Jackets answered with the final four points of the opening quarter to take an 11-7 lead after 10 minutes of action.
The game continued to be a tightly contested one until the 2:17 mark of quarter number two. Clinging to a 13-11 edge, Waynesburg found its offensive rhythm and took off on an 11-1 run that put the visiting team ahead 24-12 with just over four minutes to play in the half. The Orange and Black maintained double-digit leads for the remainder of the second and took a 31-19 lead into the locker room.
The Jackets never led by fewer than 10 points in half number two and built up advantages as large as 21 points before sealing up the win. The Waynesburg defense held GCC to just 23 percent shooting from the floor. The Orange and Black also held a sizeable 54-to-39 advantage in total rebounds.
Bobby dropped in a game-high 13 points on six-of-10 shooting from the floor. Junior guard
Katie Gehlmann posted her first collegiate double-double on 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Freshman guard

Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 12, when it hosts Westminster. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
