WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 1) - The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team opened its 2015 regular season with 3-0 loss to non-conference opponent Frostburg State at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

Trailing 24-16 in the first set, Waynesburg (0-1) battled Frostburg State (1-0) to win four-straight points, before losing the set 25-20. The Jackets suffered a 25-7 setback in the second set, before ultimately losing the third set 25-10.

Shannon Morgan led the team with five kills, while senior
Kourtney Skinner chipped in with four successful attacks. In her first game as a Jacket, freshman
Sydni Ayers led the team with 11 assists, while senior
Jessica Dorazio recorded a team-high three digs.

The Jackets hit the road this weekend for the Saint Vincent Bearcat Challenge in Latrobe, Pa. Waynesburg will participate in four matches over a two-day span, beginning Friday. The Orange and Black's first contest is scheduled for 3 p.m. against Allegheny.
