WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 24) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team welcomed Mount Aloysius to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse for a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Thursday night. The Yellow Jackets battled the Mounties for five sets, but came out on the wrong end of a 3-2 final score.
Waynesburg (1-12) raced out to a 1-0 match lead after rolling to a 25-10 win in the first set. Mount Aloysius (5-5) rebounded by taking set two 25-21, before the Jackets put themselves in position to win by claiming a 25-19 triumph in the fourth set. Unfortunately, the home team was unable to close out the victory, as Mount Aloysius won set four 25-22 and the set five 15-11.
The Jacket offense was led by senior outside hitter
Kourtney Skinner, who piled up a team-high 13 kills. The veteran standout completed a double-double with 22 digs. Senior right side hitter
Shannon Morgan added 11 kills, while freshman
Lexy Waldman was successful on eight attacks.

Sydni Ayers continued a strong rookie season with the Jackets by piling up a match-high 33 assists. Senior libero
Jessica Dorazio paced all players with 28 digs and tied for the team lead with three service aces. Freshman
Sarah Trocki produced a big night that included four total blocks and three aces.
Waynesburg is back home at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on Saturday, when it hosts a PAC tri-match. The Jackets will face Grove City at 11 a.m., before squaring off with Bethany at 3 p.m. The two visiting schools will meet in the 1 p.m. match.
