WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 29) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team ended a six-match losing streak by sweeping Chatham 3-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Tuesday night. The Yellow Jackets took the contest by the set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-11.
Waynesburg (2-14, 2-6) was led offensively by senior
Kourtney Skinner, who posted a match-high 10 kills on the evening. Skinner also tied for the match lead with three service aces. Freshman
Bekah Matta chipped in eight successful attacks. Freshman setter
Sydni Ayers helped out the offense with a contest-best 29 assists against the Cougars (1-14, 0-7).
The Jacket defense was paced by senior
Jessica Dorazio, who piled up a match-high 13 digs. Ayers just missed out on a double-double after recording nine digs.
After playing nine of its first 16 matches at home in 2015, the Yellow Jackets will be on the road until Oct. 21. Waynesburg's first stop will be at La Roche College on Thursday, Oct. 1. Start time for the match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
