Addy Knetzer gave Waynesburg (9-7, 7-2) an 11-7 advantage that it never relinquished. A pair of Geneva (7-9, 4-5) free throws pulled the visitors to within two points at 11-9. However, a 7-0 run by the home team gave the Jackets a firm grasp on the victory that never loosened until the early portion of quarter number four.
Waynesburg held a 38-24 halftime lead and grew its advantage to as many as 18 points (46-28) in the third quarter. To Geneva's credit, the visiting squad never gave up the fight and a three-pointer by the Tornadoes pulled them to within a single basket (42-39) 15 seconds into the fourth quarter.
