BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 1) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team traveled north to Geneva College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match. The Yellow Jackets dropped 3-0 finals to the host Golden Tornadoes and Thomas More.
The Jackets (1-17, 0-11) dropped their opener with Geneva (14-5, 9-1) 25-12, 25-13, 25-19, before falling 25-17, 25-15, 25-14 to the Saints (10-8, 8-1). Geneva completed a 2-0 day by beating Thomas More 3-0.
Freshman
Alyssa Proper had a huge day, defensively, for the Orange and Black. She racked up 31 digs (5.17 digs per set), including 18 against Geneva. Waynesburg was led offensively by sophomore
Jordyn Wyllie, who led her team with a combined 11 kills over the two matches. Sophomore
Sydni Ayers helped out with 18 assists.
The Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 5, with a road PAC tri-match at Bethany. Waynesburg will face the host Bison, as well as Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
