BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 5) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team traveled to Bethany for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match with the host Bison and Washington & Jefferson. The Yellow Jackets dropped both contests by 3-0 final scores.
Waynesburg (1-19, 0-13) fell 25-10, 25-13, 25-18 to the home team (11-11, 6-2) in the early contest. The Jackets wrapped up their stay in West Virginia with a 25-12, 25-13, 25-16 setback against the Presidents (14-4, 8-2).
Though it came over a pair losses, sophomore
Jordyn Wyllie had a solid day on the attack. She posted eight kills against the Bison, before going for double digits (11) against W&J. Senior
Shannon Morgan chipped in 12 successful attacks on the day.
Sophomore
Sydni Ayers also performed better than the final match results from her setter position. The Manhattan, Montana, native racked up 44 assists (7.33 per set) over the twin-bill.
Another young Yellow Jackets found success on the day in the form of freshman
Alyssa Proper. Proper piled up 23 digs over two contests (4.60 per set). Morgan went for five blocks, including two solo stuffs.
Waynesburg won't be back in action until Tuesday, Oct. 11, when it travels to Westminster. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
