WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 11) – For one half of play on Tuesday night, the Waynesburg University women's soccer team played right with visiting Washington & Jefferson in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup. Unfortunately, the second 45 minutes of action saw a pronounced swing in W&J's favor, which led to the Presidents picking up a 4-0 victory.
The game stayed tied at 0-0 for the first 65:17, before W&J (9-3-2, 3-1) broke up the scoreless tie. The visiting team added its first insurance goal 65 seconds later and went on to victory from there. Freshman goalkeeper
Courtney Syfert started and played all 90 minutes in net for Waynesburg (4-8-1, 1-3). She recorded seven saves on the evening.
The Jackets return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 15, with a road trip to Geneva. Start time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
