WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 13) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team held its annual Dig Pink Game for cancer research and awareness on Thursday night, when it hosted Grove City in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup. After a bit of a slow start, the Yellow Jackets battled hard and were in position to win both sets two and three. Unfortunately, the Wolverines came out on the right end of both, as they took the contest 3-0.
Grove City (9-15, 6-6) took the opening set 25-9. The Jackets (1-21, 0-15) rebounded in set two and trailed just 17-16, before falling 25-20. Waynesburg continued its solid play into the third set, where it built up leads of 16-11 and 21-17. GCC rallied to end the match on an 8-1 run that concluded with a 25-22 final score.

Jordyn Wyllie tied for the team lead with seven kills each. Sophomore
Sydni Ayers posted 16 assists, three kills and a team-high seven digs for a well-rounded effort.
Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 19, when it travels to Saint Vincent for its final road PAC match of the season. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
