Men's soccer ends 2016 season

Waynesburg falls 1-0 at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 29) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team put up a good fight in its final game of the 2016 campaign. The Yellow Jackets squared off with Westminster in an evenly played contest, but came up just short of victory, falling 1-0 to the Titans.

Waynesburg (4-12-1, 2-5-1) outshot Westminster (6-7-4, 3-3-2) 16-to-13 on the day, but the Titans held a slight nine-seven advantage in shots on goal. The home team used one of those attempts on net to post the day's only score in the 36th minute of play.

Sophomore keeper James Snyder stood tall in net and made eight saves over a full 90-minute effort. Senior Zack Benedict attempted a team-high four shots on the afternoon. Freshman Justin Buberl put a squad-best two shots on goal.
