WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 5) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team hosted Thomas More on Wednesday night for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match. The young Yellow Jackets gave the perennial PAC title contenders a good fight, but ultimately fell just short in a 1-0 contest.
Thomas More (7-6, 2-0) scored the game's only goal with just 21 seconds remaining in the first half. Waynesburg (2-9, 0-2) did all it could to tally an equalizer, but was unable to penetrate the stout Saint defense.
The Jackets remained in striking distance throughout the night, despite being out-shot 12-3. Sophomore goalkeeper
James Snyder was solid in goal, stopping five-of-six shots on net.
Waynesburg returns to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 8, with a road trip to Thiel. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
