WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Feb. 10) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team emphatically snapped out of a five-game winning streak by beating Thiel 76-56 on Wednesday night at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. The win kept the Yellow Jackets in fourth place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) standings.
After giving up the first basket of the game, Waynesburg (10-12, 8-7) rebounded to score the next seven points, five of which came from senior forward
Heather Davis. The Jackets never trailed from that point on and built a 36-27 halftime lead.
The Waynesburg lead grew to 56-44 after the end of the quarter. The home team put away the Tomcats (3-19, 3-12) in the fourth, by winning the period 20-12. The Jackets held sizeable advantages in both three-point shooting (10-of-25 to four-of-21) and field goal percentage (43 percent to 29.7 percent).

Maura Bobby led the Jackets with a team-high 14 points each. Davis added 12 points to the winning effort, while sophomore forward
Addy Knetzer dominated the boards with a game-high 15 rebounds. Senior guard

Waynesburg will go for another PAC win on Saturday, when it celebrates senior day with a home game against Bethany. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
