MARIETTA, Ohio (Sept. 24) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to the State of Ohio to square off with Marietta. The Yellow Jackets and Pioneers battled over 110 minutes of action before the two squads settled for a 0-0 tie in double overtime.
As one would expect from the final score, the game was an evenly played affair. Both teams put five shots on goal, which were all turned away by the two keepers. Freshman
Courtney Syfert logged the shutout for Waynesburg (3-4-1), who got a team-high four shots from junior
Nikki Davis. Junior
Sam Nichols put a squad-best two shots on goal.
The Jackets return to the Buckeye State on Tuesday, Sept. 27, with a road game at the University of Mount Union. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
