BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 11) – It was a frustrating Wednesday afternoon for the Waynesburg University women's soccer team, as it traveled to Bethany for a  Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match with the Bison. Despite holding sizeable advantages in both total shots and shots on goal, the Yellow Jackets came up short in a 1-0 road loss.
 
Waynesburg (5-6-1, 1-3) out-shot Bethany (5-9, 3-1) 9-3 in the first half, but was unable to take a lead into the locker room. The Yellow Jackets kept up the offensive pressure in the second half, out-doing the Bison 10-4 in that category. Unfortunately, the only shot that mattered, which found the back of the Waynesburg net in the 80^th minute, belonged to the Bison and wound up determining the day's winner.
 
Along with a 19-7 advantage in total shots and a 9-2 edge in shots on goal, the Jackets also attempted six corner shots. Bethany notched three tries from the corner flags.
 
The Jackets will try to rebound from the heart-breaking road loss on Saturday when they celebrate senior day. Waynesburg welcomes Thiel to John F. Wiley Stadium for a 1 p.m. PAC showdown.
