BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 7) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team traveled north for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match with Westminster and the hosts from Geneva. The Yellow Jackets dropped both matches 3-0.
Waynesburg (1-17, 0-11) opened the morning against the host Golden Tornadoes (8-15, 6-3) and fell short by set scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-19. The Yellow Jackets did not get much time off as they stayed on the court for the middle match against the Titans (15-4, 7-2). Westminster was victorious in its first match 25-20, 25-17, 25-12.
Waynesburg's offense was paced by juniors
Jordyn Wyllie and
Lexy Waldman, who totaled 12 and 10 kills, respectively, over the day's action. Freshmen
Rachel Lemay and
Olivia Zuchelli both saw time as the Yellow Jacket setter, where they tallied 19 and 15 assists, respectively.
The Jacket defense was paced by sophomore
Alyssa Proper and junior
Cassidy Guiser. Proper finished with 32 digs while Guiser ended with 23 on the day. Guiser added three aces over the two matches.
Waynesburg gets back on the road on Thursday, Oct. 12, for a PAC matchup in Latrobe, Pa. against the Saint Vincent Bearcats. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
