Waynesburg grew its advantage to as many as 21 points before heading into halftime with a 38-19 lead. To Hiram's credit, the visiting team outscored the Jackets 28-16 in the third and pulled to within just six points (66-60) with 5:13 showing on the game clock. The Jackets were able to close out the victory from that point on. Waynesburg's lead was down to eight points with 1:30 remaining in the contest, but Starre converted on three-of-four tries from the foul line down the stretch.
The Orange and Black shot 47.6 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Terriers by a 41-to-33 margin.
