WASHINGTON, Pa. (March 16) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team opened Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) play on Thursday with a road match at Washington & Jefferson. The Yellow Jackets fell 15-2 to the Presidents.
Waynesburg (0-2, 0-1) opened the scoring with a goal by senior
Holly Bachman. Unfortunately, that was the Jackets' last lead of the night, as the Presidents (1-3, 1-0) answered by scoring the next 12 points of the contest. Senior
Abbie Miller tallied Waynesburg's final goal of the evening with 3:08 left to play in the first half.
W&J scored three times in the second period to close out the contest. Senior
Kaitlyn Wetzel played all 60 minutes in net and made six saves.
The Jackets are back in action on Saturday, when they host Lancaster Bible College in a non-conference match. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
