Bryn Athyn, Pa. (March 25) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team played its second game in as many days when it traveled to Bryn Athyn on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets came up short in a 15-3 contest.
Waynesburg (0-5) actually took the first lead of the day when senior
Holly Bachman split the pipes just 32 seconds after the opening whistle. Following the veteran's quick strike, the Lions (3-0) responded with 13-straight scores to end the first half.
Bryn Athyn's lead grew to 14-1 early in period number two, before senior
Abbie Miller scored back-to-back goals for the Yellow Jackets. The game's final tally was notched with 5:13 remaining in the contest.
Freshman
Christina Bauer started and played all 60 minutes in net for the Jackets and tallied seven saves. Bachman not only scored, but scooped up a game-high six groundballs.
Waynesburg opens Ohio River Lacrosse Conference play on Wednesday, March 29, when it makes a road trip to Thiel. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
