WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 12) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team hosted the Thiel Tomcats for a Presidents' Athletic Conference home opener. The Yellow Jackets fell in straight sets, 3-0.
Waynesburg (1-8, 0-4) lost to the Tomcats (6-4, 1-0) by the set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-19.
The Jackets were led by junior
Cassidy Guiser, who had five kills to pace the offense. Freshman
Olivia Zuchelli helped the Jacket attack with 10 assists. Sophomore
Alyssa Proper led the defense with a match-high 14 digs.
Waynesburg is back in action on Thursday, when it hosts PAC rival Washington and Jefferson for the Yellow Jackets first annual Night of Nets, which aims to raise awareness for and provide support in ending Malaria. Start time is slated for 7 p.m.
