WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 14) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team hosted Interstate 79 rival Washington and Jefferson College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup. The Presidents came out on top by the final score of 3-0.
 
The Presidents (3-5, 2-2) defeated the Yellow Jackets in the first set 25-11. In the second set, Waynesburg jumped to an early 12-7 lead, but the Presidents rebounded to claim the middle and final sets by the scores of 25-16 and 25-13, respectively.

Freshman Hannah Colvin led the Yellow Jackets in hitting percentage (.220) and converted five kills. Junior Cassidy Guiser led the team in kills with seven on the night. Sophomore Olivia Zuchelli led Waynesburg with 13 assists. It was the sixth straight match were Zuchelli totaled double-digit assists. Sophomore Alyssa Proper led the defense with 21 digs, her fourth match this year with 20-plus digs.
 
Waynesburg returns to the hardwood on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 20, against Pitt Greensburg. Start time is slated for 7 p.m.
