WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 15) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team welcomed Mount Aloysius to John F. Wiley Stadium for a Friday night contest. The Yellow Jackets ran their current unbeaten streak to four games following a 1-0 win over the Mounties.
After the two teams played to a scoreless first half, Waynesburg (3-1-1) senior
Melanie Byler ripped her third goal of the year into the back of the net after collecting a loose ball in front of the of Mt. Aloysius (3-2-1) keeper.
That tally was enough for sophomore goalkeeper
Courtney Syfert, who made two saves over a 90-minute complete-game effort. The Jackets held major advantages in total shots (18-7) and shots on goal (9-2) on the evening.
Waynesburg get right back to work tomorrow, when it hosts Muskingum. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
