WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 17) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team ran its current unbeaten streak to five games when it hosted Muskingum on Saturday evening. The Yellow Jackets logged their second-straight shutout when they blanked the Muskies 1-0.
Freshman
Emily Hill headed in her first collegiate goal for the Jackets (4-1-1) after the ball was chipped in by senior
Sam Nichols during the 12
th minute of play. That score was enough support for sophomore goalkeeper
Courtney Syfert and her defense, which made the single score hold up for the win.
Syfert logged two saves in her second shutout in as many days. Waynesburg kept the pressure off its keeper for most of the night by limiting Muskingum (1-5) to just six total shots (two on net).
The Jackets look to keep their winning ways going on Tuesday, Sept. 19, when they host Pitt Greensburg. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
