GROVE CITY, Pa. (Oct. 20) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to Grove City for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup with the Wolverines. It wasn't a pleasant trip for the Yellow Jackets, who fell 6-0 to the Wolverines.
The home team (13-3, 6-0) scored the eventual game winner late in the 15
th minute before building a 4-0 halftime lead. Grove City scored its final goal of the day with 11 minutes showing on the scoreboard.
The Jackets (7-5-2, 3-3) were under almost constant duress as the Wolverines outshot the opposition by a 29-4 differential. Junior
Courtney Syfert (Johnstown, Pa. / Richland) started in net and suffered the loss after stopping 10-of-14 shots on net over the first 63:23 of play. Freshman
Emma Burns (Avella, Pa. / Weirton Madonna) saw her first collegiate action in goal and made three saves over 26:37.
Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 24, when it travels to Beaver Falls to face Geneva. Start time is scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
