BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 24) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to Geneva on Wednesday night for a crucial Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest with the Golden Tornadoes. Unfortunately, the Yellow Jackets gave up a pair of second-half goals that resulted in a 2-0 loss.
Unfortunately, Waynesburg (7-6-2, 3-4) needed a win over Geneva (9-7, 5-2) to stay alive for the four-team PAC postseason tournament. The GT win, their third-straight, moved them into a tie for third place in the conference standings.
Neither team found the back of the net in the first half, but Geneva broke up the scoreless tie midway through the 48
th minute. The home team doubled its advantage 4:34 later with a goal early in the 53
rd minute.
The Jackets wrap up the 2018 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 27, when it celebrates senior day with a home match against Washington & Jefferson. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
